I'm not a Linux nerd, and even I've heard of GIMP. Hell, I have it installed on my XP machine. I do like Win 7, and it's a big step forward for MS. Halfway intelligent font management, built right into the OS? Hooray!! Only, the Mac has had it since the eighties...
