I would like to ask the readers [you], what do you think is the future of blogging.
At the rate of 100K blogs per day, [calculated when technorati posted this in 2006] a steady increase would mean that there are approx. 123 Million blogs out there.
How do you think will this mass of users blogging effect us and the way we distribute information.
Bloggers and readers might have different perspectives, at times we as bloggers can overlook the simplest clues which can reveal so much more.

By rough estimates, there are approximately 175,000 new blogs indexed by Technorati every second. And that’s Technorati, which indexes far less than Google’s bots, for instance.
At the same time, people are abandoning their blogs without deleting them, so the numbers of indexed sites are misleading.
Blogging, or citizen journalism if you will, is not going anyway and is only getting stronger. This is why many traditional newspapers are laying off their staff and going 100% online. Competition is healthy.
At times i feel, blogging will become what tv is today, content will be worthless and ads will be plenty.
Blogs aren’t going to go away, but the rush will fade, and the field will be left with a few popular blogs. The majority of people will find a new hobby.
